Collection: Leysieffer "The Heavenly Ones" – the iconic comeback

A success story with a turning point: Since 1909, the name Leysieffer stood for high-quality confectionery art from Osnabrück. After the insolvency in November 2024, the end of the traditional brand seemed sealed, until the neighboring confectionery Rabbel from Westerkappeln acquired the brand rights and original recipes in July 2025 and brought "Die Himmlischen" (The Heavenly Ones) back to life. At Dreyer Confiserie, we offer the revived classics: "Die Himmlischen" cream truffles, the Heavenly Duet, and the Classic Pralines without alcohol. All made according to the original recipe in Westerkappeln.

The "Himmlischen" are back – a confectionery story with a happy ending

Over 115 years of Leysieffer: It's a story of confectionery artistry, family business, a painful end, and a happy ending nobody saw coming.

In 1909, Ulrich Leysieffer opened a confectionery shop on Krahnstraße in Osnabrück. From that small shop, over generations, it developed into one of Germany's most renowned premium confiseries, with over 450 employees, 30 branches, 17 confiseries, and six bistros at its peak. The breakthrough came in the 1950s: the cream truffles "Die Himmlischen" became an iconic trademark and have remained so to this day.

In November 2024, the harsh end: final insolvency, liquidation, production ceased. For many loyal customers, this was a real loss, as the iconic cream truffles disappeared from the shelves.

Then the comeback. Confiserie Rabbel from neighboring Westerkappeln, itself a family business founded in 1907, took over the brand rights and original recipes on July 2, 2025. Over 30 truck journeys transported the complete production facilities from the Osnabrück factory to Westerkappeln. "At the thought that a piece of German craft history could simply end with that, my confectioner's heart bled," Christian Rabbel said about the takeover.

Production resumed in October 2025. Following the original recipe, with the original machines, and with the same craftsmanship. At Dreyer Confiserie, we offer these revived classics with special appreciation. We know what it means to keep a confectionery history of over a hundred years alive and are proud to bring a piece of it to your home.

The Heavenly Ones – a piece of German confectionery history

Anyone who has tried "Die Himmlischen" (The Heavenly Ones) will never forget them: delicate cream truffles with fine milk chocolate couverture and a filling that literally melts on the tongue. What began in 1950 as an artisanal creation in the Osnabrück patisserie became the legendary trademark of the Leysieffer brand and, to this day, the city's most famous praline.

The secret lies in the original recipe: high-quality cream, finest chocolate, precise temperature, careful craftsmanship. This recipe has been consistently preserved since the 1950s, even through insolvency. Confiserie Rabbel has been producing "Die Himmlischen" again since October 2025 according to this exact original recipe, using the original machines, at the new production site in Westerkappeln.

At Dreyer Confiserie, we offer these iconic cream truffles in three varieties:

· "Die Himmlischen" 100g: the classic pack, ideal for personal enjoyment or as a small gift · Heavenly Duet 180g: milk chocolate and dark chocolate in one box, our customers' top seller · "Die Himmlischen" Gift Pack 200g: the elegant gift box for special occasions

Complemented by The Classic Pralines without Alcohol 225g for all those who prefer a fine confectionery mix without a hint of spirits.

Enjoy cream truffles in their full flavor

The Heavenly Ones truly reveal their full character when given the right treatment. Our recommendations:

· Store at 14–18 °C: cool, dry, and protected from light, not in the refrigerator · Allow to briefly come to room temperature before enjoying: this way, cream truffles develop their full melt-in-your-mouth texture · Seal opened packages airtight and consume within 2 weeks · Fresh cream truffles are not intended for storage over several months: they are a gourmet product with a clear expiration date · Take your time to enjoy them: the delicate cream filling demands a quiet moment, not a quick snack

This is how "The Heavenly Ones" taste just like they did back in the 1950s: melt-in-your-mouth, creamy, and with the unmistakable Leysieffer character that has defined the brand for over 70 years.
