Odenwälder Marzipankonditorei – handgefertigtes Edelmarzipan aus dem Odenwald

Marzipan Art from the Odenwald – Handmade Since the 1970s

Deep in the Odenwald, in the tranquil town of Weilbach near Amorbach, marzipan that is second to none has been produced since the 1970s. What master confectioner Gerd Zuber once started at his kitchen table is now a manufactory with around 90 employees. Run by the second generation, it is still characterized by genuine craftsmanship. A single elaborate marzipan figure often involves between 10 and 25 hands, and only premium marzipan with a high almond content is used. As "makers of happiness" from Hameln, we stock this South German marzipan with the same care with which it is created in the Odenwald.

To History
  • Handgefertigte Marzipanfiguren von Odenwälder – Brezel, Früchte und Gemüse

    Handmade marzipan figures

The specialty of the Odenwälder Manufactory: deceptively real marzipan figures, from Bavarian pretzels to currywurst with fries to ham platters with schnapps. Each motif is decorated by hand and consists entirely of premium marzipan. A humorous gift, an edible table decoration, and an eye-catcher all in one. This world also includes detailed marzipan fruits and vegetables.

  • Geflämmtes Marzipanbrot und Königsberger Bruch von Odenwälder Marzipan

Classics: Marzipan Loaf & Königsberger Bruch

For purists, we offer the great marzipan classics: the flambéed one-pound marzipan loaf (500 g), the traditional Königsberger Bruch, and the variant with fine chocolate. Here, the pure almond aroma of the noble marzipan takes center stage, along with the fine roasted notes that flambering brings.

  • Edelmarzipan-Konfekt und Marzipan-Glücksbringer von Odenwälder Marzipan

Fine Marzipan Confections & Lucky Charms

Fine marzipan confections combine delicate marzipan with exquisite flavors. Available as advocaat, pistachio, or whiskey confections (125 g each) and as "pacemakers" in heart shape. For New Year's, charming good luck charms such as marzipan pigs and lucky bars are added, small gifts for giving away.

What makes good marzipan

The quality of marzipan is determined by its almond content. The more almonds and the less sugar, the more intense and refined the taste. Simple marzipan can contain a lot of sugar; fine marzipan, on the other hand, relies on a high almond content. At Odenwälder, it's around 41%, and up to 50% for some specialties.

What to look for when buying marzipan: · Almond content: the higher, the better quality and less sweet · Craftsmanship: true craftsmanship is evident in the attention to detail · Freshness: flamed marzipan impresses with delicate roasted aromas · Ingredients: controlled raw materials instead of artificial flavors

This is how your marzipan stays moist and flavorful

Fine marzipan will thank you for storing it correctly. To preserve its aroma and juiciness:

· Store in a cool, dry place away from light: Ideally at 14–18 °C, not in the refrigerator · Seal opened marzipan loaves airtight to prevent them from drying out · Store marzipan separately from strongly odorous foods, as it is sensitive to aromas · Allow to come to room temperature briefly before consumption to fully develop the almond melt

This way, every piece tastes as intended in the Odenwald: with a high almond content, fine and full of character.
