Christmas pastry tradition from Hameln, for over 20 years
For two decades, we have passionately curated traditional Christmas baked goods in Hameln's historic old town. As "happiness makers," we stand for honest craftsmanship, selected ingredients, and recipes that tell stories. Our Christmas baked goods selection is created in collaboration with fine manufacturers such as Emil Reimann, Niederegger, Printenbäckerei Klein, and Lembcke.
The perfect Christmas specialty for your Advent season
-
Gingerbread & Aachener Printen
Our Nuremberg Elisenlebkuchen, available round, square, glazed, or chocolate-covered, meets the Aachener Printen tradition of the Printenbäckerei Klein in hard, soft, and chocolate varieties. The assortment is complemented by honey cakes and cinnamon stars from PETERS Pralinen.
-
Christmas stollen & Baumkuchen
The original Dresden Christstollen from Emil Reimann represents centuries of baking tradition, complemented by the marzipan stollen from Niederegger. Baumkuchen from Grand-Cru, Niederegger, and our own selection complete these classic fine baked goods.
-
Speculoos, Dominosteine & Christmas decorations
Lembcke's variety of speculoos, our dark and milk chocolate dominoes, and Woletz's edible gingerbread tree decorations provide variety on the Christmas plate and on the tree. Those who prefer plant-based options can choose HaferHerz's vegan speculoos.
What makes a true Dresden Stollen?
Dresden Stollen is one of Germany's oldest protected specialties and may only be baked by certified Dresden bakeries according to a fixed recipe. It is characterized by a high proportion of raisins, candied lemon peel, candied orange peel, and almonds in a rich, buttery dough, which is generously brushed with melted butter and rolled in sugar after baking. This crust protects the stollen and allows it to develop its full aroma as it matures over several weeks.
Christmas pastry classics at a glance:
· Lebkuchen: rich in almonds, juicy, mildly spiced
· Printen: firm, with syrup and strong spices
· Christstollen: buttery, with dried fruit and sugar
· Spekulatius: thin, crispy, with cinnamon and spices
How to keep your Christmas cookies fresh until the holidays
Gingerbread, Stollen, and Printen develop their full flavor with proper storage; many even get better with time. To ensure your Christmas pastries stay optimal:
· Store airtight at 16–18 °C
· Keep away from light and in the original packaging
· It's best to let Stollen mature in aluminum foil or its original packaging
· Do not store in the refrigerator, as humidity changes the consistency
This way, your Christmas pastries will taste just as fine on Christmas Eve as on the day of delivery.
